AppleCreek Flooding

Apple Creek hits its second highest crest on record Major flood stage is 17 feet Todayit stands at 17 3 feet East of andamp lt a href andamp quot http www kxnet com t bismarck-ndandamp quot class andamp quot kxInlineLinkandamp quot andamp gt Bismarckandamp lt aandamp gt the sights and sounds of flooding are everywhere Nat It sounds like a waterty freight train east of Bismarck 119th Street got in the way 7 23 Right now anywhere Apple Creek is flowing is in trouble because its crested and gone over flood stage and basically there s a path of destruction with anybody that lives within Apple Creek area right now 7 41 This home east of town is on the edge An outbuilding is already swallowed up Sandbags surround the home The owners keep a canoe in the driveway Most roads east of town are slowing the flow of Apple Creek as it heads toward Bismarck In the next day or two that could spell some trouble for folks in south of town 21 32 Those roads right now are serving as constriction points which are stopping the water from making its way into south Bismarck right now and if you go out and look at them you ll probably see about a foot of water difference from one side of the road to the other and that leads me to believe there s still higher water to be found for Apple Creek in Bismarck 21 50 The road to this home near the country club has been covered for a few days Were told the owners remain insidetheir home incredibly still dry At the andamp lt a href andamp quot http www kxnet com t golfandamp quot class andamp quot kxInlineLinkandamp quot andamp gt Golfandamp lt aandamp gt course there s more blue than greens 19 51 My superintendent and his assistant have been here for 28 years they ve seen a lot and this is probably one of the highest levels they ve seen but they tell me within two days it all just rushes back out 20 05 1979 is the worst year for flooding on record for Apple Creek This spring has moved into second placeabout a tenth of a foot behind The sheriffs department says to stay away from closed roads Schaffer says more than 25 citations have been issued to those ignoring the signs to turn around
