New Town with Good Lake Access
This weekend marks the unofficial start to summer Despite the high Gas Prices people across the nation are headed to vacation destinations Here in North Dakota though people looking to spend the weekend on the water don t have to travel all that far And there s good news in lake levels as the holiday weekend hits - the lake is above projections and just two feet below last year s level at this time That means there are many places you can find operational boat ramps around the lake One such place is the 4 Bears Peninsula which offers visitors several places to get boats onto the water Rick Snyder who works at the 4 Bears Bait Shop and Marina says all visitors need to do is stop by his store and pay a 10-dollar fee for a tribal fishing license then they re able to take advantage of the reservation s three points of access Rick Snyder 4 Bears Peninsula They re finally finding out that we are down here because we are kind of hidden out of the way We ve got a well-hidden secret People are finding out that we do have a very usable rampvery easy to access the lake Right now the fishing has been hot down by Reunion Bay and that s where everyone s headed That boat ramp is only a little more than three years old And nearby another ramp is open for business - Sanish Landing is just north of New Town Part of the concrete ramp cracked and dropped into the water but that has since been repaired And now it s open to the public Gerald Aftem Marina Developer All boat ramps are open to the public but yes We cater to the public That s ourour need is to have the public come out and visit us and take a look at what we re doing No fees at all all we ask is that you try and help us keep it clean Anytime you want the latest informaation about lake access check out our website at www kxnet com boatramps
